Die Qualität des Gesundheitssystems wird durch nosokomiale Infektionen deutlich beeinträchtigt und verursacht international eine nachhaltig hohe Kostenbelastung. Strategien und Maßnahmen zur Eindämmung nosokomialer Infektionen reichen aktuell nicht für die Eindämmung der Probleme aus. Trotz grundsätzlicher Verbesserungen im Bereich der Hygiene fehlen Lösungsansätze in einer standardisierten und interdisziplinären Infektionsprophylaxe.
Gleichzeitig macht insbesondere die Intensivmedizin große Fortschritte, die Einfluss nehmen auf Abläufe, Anforderungen und Anspruch in die qualitäts- und zeitintensive Patientenversorgung. Eingesetzte Medizinprodukte- und Desinfektionssysteme sollen aufwand- wie kostensenkenden Einfluss nehmen und gleichermaßen die Patienten- wie Personalsicherheit erhöht werden.
Im komplexen Zusammenspiel mit verschiedenen Prozessen und sensiblen Medizinprodukten rund um den Patienten werden diese einfachen Verbrauchsmaterialien zu erklärungsbedürftigen Produkten, von denen der Behandlungserfolg maßgeblich abhängig sein kann.
Daraus ergibt sich die Forderung nach einem systemabhängigen und prozessorientierten Konzept, das das Desinfektionsprodukt eng mit den anderen Medizinprodukten verknüpft. Risikoabwehr und Erfolgssicherung hängen damit entscheidend vom Desinfektionsprodukt, dem richtigen Aufbereitungsprozess, notwendiger Verfahrensschritte und umfassender Ausbildung des Anwenders ab.

The quality of the healthcare system is considerably affected by nosocomial infections, internationally causing a continuously high cost burden. Currently, the strategies and measures to contain nosocomial infections are not sufficient to curb the effects. Despite fundamental improvements in the field of hygiene, there is a lack of solutions in a standardized and interdisciplinary infection prophylaxis.
Simultaneously, intensive medicine in particular shows considerable advancements, which influence processes, requirements and demands in quality and time-consuming patient care. Medical devices and disinfection systems used should have a cost-cutting effect and increase both, patient and personnel safety.
In a complex interplay around the patient, with a variation of processes and sensitive medical products, these simple consumables become products which need explanation, and which can be key to the successful treatment of this patient.
This prompts the demand for a system-dependent and process-oriented concept which tightly links the disinfection product with other medical products. Thus, prevention of risk and guarantee of success depend substantially on the disinfection product, the correct treatment process, vital procedural steps and comprehensive training of the user.
